This lowkey French-Canadian outfit have been making music for a long time. In 2020, they released over 100 songs that were the result of an archaeological excavation through hard drives from the last twenty years. ‘Bonjour’ is a brand-new LP, accompanied by a worthwhile 25-minute short film. Both the film and the album exhibit a group intimate with artistic tendencies that orbit a distinct musical sound. Experimentation can be heard throughout, despite occasional lulling moments that feel somewhat indulgent. The band are palpably keen to push emotive tones rather than instrumental intricacies and the result is a mysterious, contained album.
