Like a King of the Dot championship rap battle, IDGAFATRSIJDUIDFLIA has a flurry of words, loaded references, and a meaty flow. $ilkMoney sounds rattled, but stays on top of his ailments and points of anger. It is a unique quality of abrasive, creatively sharp performers that they can claw us to their side with magnetism after initially seeming off-putting. In a kaleidoscope of fury and fuelled riffs, $ilk defines capitalism and racism as the agents of mental and physical dismantling. It works, then, that the rapper chooses a sheet of tortured tones and stuttering percussion as his backdrop. The atmosphere is perilous, and $ilk rides each risk without falling.
