Some things, like a good referee, are doing their job best the less they are noticed;‘Florist’ whispers on by like the jangling of garden chimes. It inspires a work beyond itself; if a true function of art is to have something born from it, Florist will have guided hundreds of pieces with its recalibrative writing. Temperament is it’s binding agent. To sound so soft, with such weight beneath it, and with such dexterous composure, is a structural feat. In its minimal, but thoughtful architecture, Florist carve something quietly powerful. The instruments uphold their voice like a flat ocean, the hushed vastness a horizon as far as the ear can hear.
